It's a Very Doors Christmas

I picked up a Doors CD for myself a few days ago. Then I happened upon the following video at the economics blog Newmark's Door. It's a holiday song medley, as if sung by the Doors.

The Superest

This one's a keeper- it's a comic called The Superest. There are two cartoonists. Cartoonist 1 draws a character with a power. Cartoonist 2 draws someone that can defeat 1's entry. They keep going, each new character defeating the first one.

For the full effect, start with the first entry.

Paul Bunyan and the Photocopier

Here's a great audio recording of a new tall tale- "Paul Bunyan and the Photocopier". Found via Boing-Boing.

Poetry Collision

This clever bit is credited to a Livejournal user called Rysmiel:

There was an old man
From Peru, whose lim'ricks all
Look'd like haiku. He

Said with a laugh "I
Cut them in half, the pay is
Much better for two."

Damn, that's clever. I was pointed to it by the Steven Brust's site; he's one of my favorite authors. If you want to read something scary and clever, look for a book called Agyar, but for heaven's sake don't read the reviews and the back cover, because they betray the book's secret.
